About the Women You See on This Site
And the thinking behind them.
The short version
The women pictured throughout this site are not photographs of real people. They are AI-generated images, created specifically for this work. That is a deliberate choice, and I want to explain it plainly, because how a thing is made says something about the values behind it.
Why not real clients
The most important reason is confidentiality. The women who do this work are often navigating divorce, widowhood, caregiving, or financial betrayal. Their privacy is not a detail. It is the ground the whole relationship stands on.
A client should never have to wonder whether her face, her story, or even a resemblance to her situation might appear on a website. So real clients are never pictured here, and never will be.
Why not stock models either
The easy alternative would be stock photography. I chose not to use it. Stock imagery of women and money runs on a small set of stereotypes: the worried woman at the kitchen table, the serene widow by the window, the triumphant divorcee.
Each of those images assigns a real model's face to a category, and then the category does the talking. That flattening is the opposite of how I see the women I work with. None of them is a stereotype, and I did not want the images on this site to suggest otherwise.
What generating the images allows
Creating each image lets me depict a feeling or a threshold without casting any real person in it. No client is exposed. No model is reduced to shorthand. The image can hold the mood of a moment, the in-between, the steadiness, the weight, without claiming to be anyone in particular.
It is honest about what it is: a representation, made on purpose, standing in for an experience rather than a person.
If you are wondering whether the woman in a photograph is you, she is not. She is no one, and she is every woman who has stood where you are standing.
That was the point.
